Ken Huus offers more than 20 years of enrollment management experience. His areas of expertise include undergraduate recruitment/admissions, student search strategy, campus visit programs, institutional marketing, and the strategic use of financial aid.
Previous campus experience
Prior to joining RNL, Ken served as the vice president for enrollment management at Columbia College (SC) where he was responsible for the offices of undergraduate admissions, graduate/adult admissions, a (then) newly established online recruitment operation, financial aid, and varsity athletics (NAIA). He has also served as the chief enrollment officer for institutions in Pennsylvania and Virginia. During his tenure in Virginia, he was responsible for helping the college grow the size of the incoming class 45 percent while simultaneously reducing the tuition discount rate. He also led a complete redesign of the college’s family of publications and created a new, strategic communication flow. At each new institution, the size of the incoming class has increased over the year prior; and in 19 of his 21 recruitment cycles, the size of the current incoming class has been larger than the year before.
At RNL, Ken has worked with more than 75 colleges and universities of every size, type, control, and location to help achieve institutional goals related to enrollment and fundraising.
Education
Ken received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Earlham College (IN), and his MBA with a focus in quality and process improvement from Miami University (OH).
