Ann Allen joins RNL with more than 18 years of higher education experience in the areas of both undergraduate and graduate (law) admission and financial aid, marketing, and alumni/development.
Previous campus experience
Most recently, Ann served as the director of admission and financial aid at Drake University Law School (IA). Her responsibilities included overseeing general recruitment efforts, admission communications/marketing, and administration of scholarships for incoming law students. Similarly, she was responsible for oversight of financial aid and scholarships for returning law students, working closely with the university’s financial aid office. During her time at Drake, both the size and the academic profile of the entering class improved.
Although she started her career in higher education wanting to coach collegiate volleyball, it was in admission she found her true interest: helping students. Ann started as an admission counselor advising students in the areas of admission and financial aid at her alma mater, Central College (IA), before being promoted to assistant, then associate director. Because of her work with utilizing alumni in enrollment efforts, she was then named director of alumni relations for two years before moving to Drake University Law School.
Education
Ann holds a master’s degree in adult learning and organizational performance, with an emphasis in leadership and higher education, from Drake University.
